Goratz Beobide Arsuaga gave an interview for the September issue of the french science communication magazine Epsiloon. The title of the article translates to Heat waves: Is it the end of the temperate climate?

Europe is facing an unprecedented surge in frequent, long, and severe heatwaves, with the summer of 2026 breaking historical records for intensity and early-season onset. This escalation is driven by a complex web of climate factors, including melting Arctic sea ice and severe soil moisture deficits, which relate to changes in atmospheric circulation and hence to severe heatwaves.
