What could be the positive side effects of necessary mitigation and adaptation measures? Marlene Klockmann and two colleagues from the German Weather Service discussed this with school children in two workshops titled "A world of extremes - how do we turn the climate crisis into opportunities?". The workshops were part of the Wetter.Wasser.Waterkant 2025 fall program for public schools in Hamburg. The students learned about climate change and extreme events, and discussed measures for mitigation and adaptation as well as the opportunities that could arise from these measures.
