Edu is now back from a two-month research stay in Melbourne, Australia. There, he visited Prof Andrew King at the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences in The University of Melbourne.
During his time in Melbourne, his research aimed to understand the future long-term effects of delays in reaching net zero emissions. This research goal was possible due to a unique set of future 1000-year-long net zero Earth system simulations with the Australian Earth System model ACCESS-ESM-1.5. Among other topics, he used these prolonged simulations to better understand European heat extremes in a net zero stabilised climate.
In addition to this research goal, he had the chance to network and start exciting collaborations with new colleagues at different Australian institutions and universities. Stay tuned for updates on the findings related to these research topics!
