What are the consequences of crossing global temperature targets? Would it be feasible to return to those levels in the near future? What are the implications of a temperature "overshoot"? To answer these and other key questions, the first Overshoot Conference took place in Austria, hosted by IIASA, from September 30th to October 3rd.
Our group member, Eduardo Alastrué de Asenjo, attended the conference and presented his work on long-term climate evolution under net-zero emissions. In the poster session, Eduardo explained some of the impacts of net zero for extreme heat events, the detectability of changes, and the design of modelling experiments to better understand these responses. At the end of the conference, for this contribution, Eduardo received the conference’s Poster Prize Award. Congratulations!
