Our group member Edu attended and presented at the 29th Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) in Leuven, Belgium (July 1st-4th). He got the opportunity to present the results of some interdisciplinary work co-authored with another UHH researcher, Felix Schaumann, and titled "Flipping the cost of tipping? Economic impacts of reduced AMOC carbon drawdown". In this work, they assess the carbon feedback effect of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and its economic impact on the social cost of carbon. From the whole experience at the conference, Edu highlights not only learning about the very relevant work being carried out in the field of Environmental Economics, but also how important these events are for climate modellers/physicists to learn how to effectively communicate and collaborate with researchers from other fields relevant to climate science.
