We are delighted to announce that on January 6, 2025, Shivanshi Asthana successfully defended her Master's thesis titled "Constraining Interannual Temperature Variability over the South Asian Summer Monsoon Region Using MPI-ESM Historical Analogues". Shivanshi explored the role of internal variability in improving summer mean temperature skill over South Asia using a subsampling method. The subsampling was based on least absolute distance for selecting analogues in closest phase with observational estimates of a tropical Indian Ocean subregion. Congratulations, Shivanshi!
