Dr. Marlene Klockmann

I am currently part of the OceanWeather project within the Hans Ertel Center (HErZ), where I aim at improving decadal predictions with the ICON model by developing observation-informed irregular ocean grids.

I am interested in climate variability from decadal to centennial timescales. My previous research has focused on the response of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC) and the Atlantic Multi-decadal Variability (AMV) to different climate forcings. To this end, I have worked with the coupled climate model MPI-ESM and developed a new climate index reconstruction algorithm based on Gaussian process regression.
