Prof. Dr. Johanna Baehr

I am interested in the large-scale ocean circulation, and its role in the climate system. As a tool, I employ numerical models to study the timescales of variability of oceanic quantities. Recently, I have been focusing on the prediction of the ocean circulation on seasonal to decadal timescales. I have also been working on model-based design studies for the observing system required to facilitate the detection of changes in the ocean circulation, and the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation in particular.
